Generative AI: The Student's Toolbox

Generative AI is one of the most time-saving and ability-enhancing technological advances in recent memory, especially for college students. As a student, we often have to write papers, read and synthesize large amounts of readings, create presentations, write code, and do many other kinds of assignments. While generative AI can't replace or complete these tasks on its own, it can be a valuable time saver by summarizing long texts, creating custom images for presentations, generating ideas and outlines for papers, and more with more to come. 

Another recent advancement for students was easy-to-use search engines that brought a ton of information to our fingertips. However, the internet has limitations that generative AI can help account for and bring even more knowledge and computing power into our reach. For instance, generative AI can search the internet and compare information across all of the sources it finds. It can also be used to answer very specific queries that a simple Google search would be hard-pressed to answer.
